List

When you choose the List view mode, the list of found users is displayed.

See Anatomy of a user to understand the items displayed.

Some sidebar sections are specific to this display mode:

  • View parameters allows you to change the number of users displayed per page and in total.
  • Order and direction are used to change the display order of the users.
  • Mode allows you to follow or unfollow faster by displaying only users for whom the operation is possible.
  • Sécurity allows you to set a minimum time between follow and unfollow (or vice versa) in order to avoid excesses that may lead to a suspension of your account by Twitter.

By default, search results are limited to 1000 users. Click Number of results displayed to change the default.

By default, a results page contains 10 users. Click Number of results per page to change the default.

Low values of these parameters make the application more responsive, high values allow you to view more results with fewer interventions.

By default, the application displays, for each user found, the latest Tweet that the application is aware of. The Latest status parameter allows you to change the display of this Tweet: you can hide all media or just sensitive media, or just do not show this Tweet.

Click Order to choose the attribute to use to order users, and Direction to choose the direction.

The relevance order is useful only when you use the filters description content or latest status text: users are then ranked according to the proximity between the searched text and the actual text. In this case, use the descending direction.

The follow/unfollow date orders users based on the date they followed or unfollowes the working account. Users who have never followed you do not have a follow or unfollow date for your account, so they can not be ordered according to this date: the application considers that they always come after the others, whatever the direction chosen.

The following/unfollowing date orders users based on the date the working account followed them or unfollowed them. Users who have never been followed do not have a following or unfollwing date, so they can not be ordered according to this date: the application considers that they always come after the others, whatever the direction chosen .

When using the Twitter source, the follow/unfollow date and following/unfollowing date orders are not available.

The upper part shows the number of users found, the number of users displayed (depends on the display parameter Maximum number of results) and the number of users selected (see Bulk Actions).

The lower part contains two check boxes: the first one allows to select or deselect all the users of the current page, the second one makes it possible to select or deselect all the users of all the pages (see bulked actions).

If you want to do a work session to follow new accounts, you probably do not want to display the ones you already follow. The follow mode is used to ignore users that you can not follow: they are not only those that you already follow but also those that you put in your blacklist and those which you recently unfollowed (see Security).

Similarly, the unfollow mode allows you to ignore users you can not unfollow: those you do not follow, but also those you have put in your whitelist and those you have recently followed (see Security).

Use normal mode to return to normal use.

The practice of following users and then stop following them shortly afterwards is to be avoided. Twitter can suspend your account if you use this practice repeatedly and massively.

To avoid this, the application does not allow you to unfollow an account that you have been following for a short time. The delay can be changed using the Unfollowing setting.

The application also does not allow you to follow an account that you unfollowed recently. You can set the security delay by changing the Follow setting.

A follow or unfollow operation prohibited because of the security delay differs according to the mode:

  • in normal mode, the follow or unfollow button is disabled,
  • in follow or unfollow mode, the affected users are not displayed.

We advise you to keep a safety period of at least one week. If you still want to remove security, you can choose No delay for the setting.

When you change the security delays, the new values become the default values. As a result, if you need to remove the security, consider giving it back.

A user is composed of 3 areas (separated in the following example for clarity):

Content area

This area contains essentially user-specific information:

  • The profile image.
  • A badge below the profile image shows the verified accounts: this is the case for our example.
  • Full name and username, followed by a few indicators: number of followers and followings, number of lists of which it is a member, number of Tweets and likes.
  • The date the account was created.
  • The account description.
  • The latest Tweet of the user (at the date of the last update): the presence of this Tweet depends on the View parameters.
  • The location, website, language: if you click on the location, it is searched on Google Maps.

The last line indicates whether the user is following the work account. There are three possibilities:

  • FOLLOWS YOU if the user follows the working account (follower). In this case, it is also indicated since when the user follows you.
  • HAS UNFOLLOWED YOU if the user has stopped following you (unfollower). In this case, it is also indicated since when the user no longer follows you.
  • DOES NOT FOLLOW YOU if the user is not currently following you and has never followed you since you manage the working account with Socialfave.

Follow and unfollow dates are not provided by Twitter. This has the following consequences:

  • The application takes the follow or unfollow date as the date the follower or unfollower was detected (that is, when synchronized). In particular, users who were following you before the very first synchronization will have the date of subscription for this synchronization date.
  • An unfollower will only be detected if it has stopped following you after the first synchronization.

Attributes area

To the left of the zone, a check box is used to select or deselect the user for bulk actions.

Then, from left to right:

  • A Twitter symbol: click on it to go to the user's Twitter profile.
  • A series of 5 stars to assign the user a rating of 1 to 5.
  • Tags assigned to the user: Tags.

Actions area

This area contains in most cases:

  • A Unfollow or Follow button depending on whether you are following the user or not.
  • A Plus menu allows you to access the available actions not offered by the previous button.
  • The rest of the area is dedicated to managing interactions interactions.

See Actionsfor the list of available actions.

The actions available for now are:

Follow

If you do not already follow the user and you have not blocked it, the action area contains a Follow button. Just click on it to follow the user.

If you followed the user in the past and you stopped following it, it is indicated above the button since when you unfollowed it.

The button can be disabled for two reasons:

Unfollow

If you follow the user and you have not blocked it, the action area contains an Unfollow button. Just click on it to stop following the user.

It is indicated above the button since when you followed it.

The button can be disabled for two reasons:

Block / Unblock

To block a user, click Block on the Plus menu in the action area.

When a user is blocked, the action area contains only one Blocked button. Click this button to unblock the user.

Mute / Unmute

To mute a user, click Mute on the Plus menu of the action area.

When a user is muted, the action area contains a Muted button. Click this button to see the user's Tweets again.

Add/remove tags

See Tags.

To send a Tweet to the user, click Tweet @… in the Plus menu of the action area.

Add to the whitelist

The whitelist contains accounts you do not want to unfollow.

To add a user to this list, click Add to the whitelist in the Plus menu in the action area: the Unfollow button is disabled and you will not be able to unfollow this user by mistake.

If the user is already in your whitelist and you want to remove it, click Remove from the whitelist on the Plusmenu in the action area.

You cannot add a user you do not follow to your whitelist: you must first follow it.

Add to the blacklist

The blacklist contains accounts that you absolutely do not want to follow.

To add a user to this list, click Add to the blacklist on the Plus menu in the action area: the Follow button is disabled and you will not be able to follow this user by mistake.

If the user is already in your blacklist and you want to remove it, click Remove from the blacklist on the Plus menu in the action area.

You cannot add a user you follow to your blacklist: you must first unfollow it.
